hi, any suggestions?

I use dial-up, and my phone is connected to my computer, even if I'm not online, my phone would give off beeps like those heard when I'm online.

when i pick up the phone, the beeping would start, each beep would last for about 2 seconds, and after about 5 to 10 beeps, I would hear a little clicking sound, and everything would be normal again. but this happens everytime that i receive calls, and only when i'm receiving calls.

I can still talk on the phone when its beeping, except its really hard to hear anything.

I have recently installed and uninstalled callwave, a internet call waiting program, my computer functions normally.

thanks in advance

When you uninstalled callwave, did you contact your phone company and have them remove the busyline call waiting option?

Check the bios to make sure that you don't have wake on modem activated..also, might be worth it to unplug the computer and make sure that the peoblem doesn't continue with the modem taken out of the equation

The program may have issues a * command before dialing out. You may have to issue the counter * command to turn it off. Call your local provider to see if what the charges are associated with and see if there is a command to turn this feature off, or have your provider do it for you.
